JOHN JALOWICKI

John is the founding partner at Eyes On Optometrists. He completed his optometry degree at Melbourne University in 1979 and after working at the University for a short time started our Rosebud practice. He also went on to study Audiometry (hearing) though he no longer practices in this area.

John was the first Eyes On member to complete his therapeutics degree, enabling him to prescribe a wide range of medications to treat common eye conditions. John is our specialist contact lens practitioner and has considerable experience in fitting keratoconic contact lenses. He has been certified to prescribe the Synergy hybrid lens.

John works at our Collins Square, Warrandyte and Rosebud stores.

In his spare time he enjoys restoring an old pub.

JOHANNA ARENDSEN

Jo graduated in 1993 and is a founding partner at Eyes On. Her interests include contact lenses, laser vision correction and computer related vision problems. She also works extensively with leading eye specialists in providing pre and post operative eye care.

When not at work, Jo enjoys spending time with her three children.

Jo works at our Queen Street store.

SUE CALLAHAN

After a fews years absence, Sue has recently rejoined the Eyes On team. She has over 20 years of experience in Optometry especially in the area of laser vision correction. For a number of years she managed a laser vision centre in Canada as well as worked with one of Melbourne’s renowned laser surgeons. Her interests include contact lenses and ocular disease.

RUSSELL HUNTER

Russell graduated optometry in 2000 and has been working on the Mornington Peninsula since 2005. He has been actively involved in kindergarten screening days and giving talks to the local community. He also travels overseas to Nepal to provide volunteer eye care in the remote parts of Nepal.

Russell works part time at our Rosebud Store.

In his spare time, Russell enjoys walking his Border Collie and watching the AFL.

KRISTINA IACOVANGELO

Bachelor of Optometry (Melb Uni)

Kristina graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2012 with full therapeutic endorsement. Her key interests are Dry Eye diagnosis, treatment and management, Glaucoma diagnosis and management, any Contact Lens fitting, and an overall avid interest in ocular pathology (both anterior and posterior). Kristina enjoys the challenge of an unknown ‘red eye’ presentation and the hunt for any hidden foreign bodies. She’s had broad exposure to optometry in her years of practicing and brings with her a wealth of knowledge and friendly demeanour.

Outside of optometry Kristina enjoys spending time with her young son, her adventurous husband, and playful pug puppy.

Kristina works four days a week at our Docklands practice.

DR ALAN JOHNSTON

Dr Alan Johnston is a former Reader and Associate Professor of the Department of Optometry at the University of Melbourne. He has a keen interest in helping people with low vision and was one of the founding optometrists at the Association for the Blind’s Kooyong Low Vision Clinic. Dr Johnston regularly lectures overseas and continues to visit China were he lectures students on assisting patients with low vision.

Dr Johnston works part time at our Southgate store. His practice is restricted to assisting people with low vision.

LINDA KOTSOS

Bachelor of Optometry (Melb Uni))

Linda graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1995. She has worked in CBD practices for most of her career, in addition to owning an independant practice in Elwood for several years.

Linda has a keen interest in ocular disease, management of dry eye and contact lenses and is the main optometrist at our new Collins Square practice. Outside of work, you will find Linda at the gym or enjoying time with her daughter.

MICHAEL KOZULIN

Michael graduated from Melbourne University in 1998 and has gone on to complete his therapeutics qualifications enabling him to prescribe a wide range of medications to treat eye disease. In 2003 he became a member of the College of Optometry, City University London. Michael has interests in the area of ocular disease management, dry eye and speciality contact lens fitting.

When not at work, Michael enjoys indoor volleyball and kayaking.

Micahel works at our Somerville and Dromana stores.

KURT MECHKAROFF

Kurt completed his degree in 1990 and is a founding partner of Eyes On. He started his career working in country Victoria and has gone on to complete a Masters in Optometry. Part of his Masters degree included Behavioral Optometry an area which focuses on Children’s vision and vision related learning problems. He has attended a number of overseas conferences and has completed the Grand Rounds training program at the University of New York. Kurt is an accrediated disability assessor for the US Veterans Evaluation Service. His interests include Children’s vision, contact lenses and dry eye.

Kurt works at our Southgate store.

In his spare time he enjoys cycling and travel.

VICKI NANKERVIS

Vicki has lived on the Mornington Pensinsula for many years having worked previously in the Frankston area. She currently works part time at our Somerville and Dromana practices. She has a broad interest in all areas of optometry and enjoys helping people with vision problems.

Away from work, Vicki enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, swimming and catching up with friends.

MATTHEW SMITH

Matthew is a founding partner of Eyes On and is our General Manager. He is a qualified optical dispenser and works at our Collins Square store. Matthew has also completed a Bachelor of Business.

When not working Matthew is a keen cyclist and rower.

JAN UNGERER

Jan completed her optometry degree in 1994 and has gone on to complete a Masters degree and certificate in sports vision. She enjoys all areas of optometry and has particular interests in ocular disease, contact lenses and sports vision.

Jan works part time at our Warrandyte store.

Ros graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2002. She has worked as a clinician at the Australian College of Optometry and as a locum in country Victoria for the Optometry Association. Her interests include ocular disease, contact lenses and laser surgery. She is therapeutically qualified and is pleased to be able to prescribe ocular medications to manage eye infections and inflammation.

Ros works part time at our Queen Street store.

Ros has two gorgeous you children and enjoys playing tennis and reading in her spare time.
