4. How often should I get my eyes tested?
A general eye examination is recommended once every two to three years. Children should be examined before starting pre-school at about 3 years of age. They should then be reassessed throughout their life at regular intervals every two to three years.
If you wear contact lenses annual checks are advised.
Your optometrist will advise as to how often you will need to be reassessed at your next visit. It is important to remember that your optometrist is not only assessing your vision but also your ocular health.
